How this page works
We do not predict discounts and we do not invent percentages. Everything below comes from two kinds of source, both fetched and read: the manufacturers' own sale announcements (Polar, COROS, Garmin, Apple), and independent price reports from the last two Novembers that recorded specific prices on specific dates. Where we could not find a record for a product class, we say so rather than fill the gap. Every claim is numbered to a source at the bottom of the page.
The prices in the table above and on every buy button are live from the Amazon Product API, stamped with the date checked. A historical price quoted in the text below is exactly that — what a cited source recorded on a past date — and is never a current price.
What historically discounts in this category
Chest straps and heart-rate sensors: reliably, and deeply
The most dependable discount in the category. Polar runs its own "Black Weeks" sale on polar.com each year; in 2025 it opened on 11 November, ran to 1 December, and Polar's own announcement put it at up to 43% off, or up to 30% off in the US. An independent report the same week listed the H10 at up to 40% off and the H9 at up to 43%. COROS ran 25% off its own strap with any watch purchase from 24 November to 2 December 2025. If the gift is a strap — and on this site it usually should be — the record says November is a good time, and it also says the straps are cheap enough that waiting is not worth much.
Previous-generation Garmin watches: reliably
The pattern in both years we checked is that the watch Garmin replaced in the spring is the watch that is cheapest in November. In 2025 the Forerunner 265 was recorded at one of its lowest prices yet and the Forerunner 965 at 25% off, while their replacements got $100 off. The 47 mm fēnix 8 dropped from a $999.99 list to $749.99 on Black Friday weekend 2024, three months after launch, and the 51 mm fēnix 8 was $250 off again in November 2025. With the fēnix 9 and 9 Pro announced on 25 August 2026, the fēnix 8 line is now the previous generation going into its third November.
Garmin's newest watches: a first, modest discount
The 2025 record is specific: the Forerunner 970 "firmly sat at $749.99 since its release in May" and went to $649.99 — $100 off, its first discount — at Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Garmin, REI and Dick's on Black Friday. The Forerunner 570 was also $100 off, and the Instinct 3 25% off. The source's own generalization: "Every Black Friday, we see newly-released Garmin watches go on sale for the first time." The size of that first discount, in the record we have, was $100 on a flagship — not half price.
Apple Watch Ultra: the outgoing model, from retailers
Apple does not run Black Friday discounts itself; Amazon and Best Buy do. In 2025 the new Ultra 3 was $99 off at Amazon on Black Friday and reached $679 ($120 off) on the Cyber weekend, while the outgoing Ultra 2 was $200 off. The Ultra 4 launched on 18 September 2026 at the same $799 starting price, so the Ultra 3 is now the outgoing model. On the 2025 pattern, that is the one to watch.
Oura: skipped its first Black Friday, discounted its second
The Oura Ring 4 launched in October 2024 and, per an independent report, received "its first discount ever" at Prime Day in July 2025 — meaning it went through Black Friday 2024 at full price. By Black Friday 2025 it was $249 from $349. The membership itself was reported without any discount. The Ring 5 is now the newer model; on the Ring 4's own history, a brand-new Oura is not guaranteed a first-year discount, and the Ring 4 is the more likely November mover. We are not ranking the Ring 5 above the Ring 4 for price reasons or any other — the Ring 4 stays first on evidence.
WHOOP: the membership discounts, not the hardware
WHOOP sells memberships, so that is what goes on sale. In 2025 the 12-month Peak membership went from $239 to $199 and Life from $359 to $299, with the 5.0 hardware included free, from 20 November to 2 December. If you are gifting a year of WHOOP, the record says late November is when the year costs least.
What rarely discounts
COROS's current watches
COROS's Black Friday 2025 page discounted its heart-rate strap with a watch purchase and nothing else. The PACE 3 and PACE Pro price cuts that month were described by COROS as price reductions alongside the PACE 4 launch, with no language calling them temporary — and they have held. The PACE 4 and APEX 4 were not discounted. The pattern is permanent repricing of the older model when a new one launches, rather than a sale. If the gift is a PACE 4, we found no record suggesting waiting for November helps.
Anything launched in the last few weeks
The fēnix 9 (25 August 2026) and Apple Watch Ultra 4 (9 September 2026) are, on every record above, the least likely products in this category to be meaningfully discounted this November. Neither is ranked on this site anyway: no validation of either exists yet.
What we could not find a record for
We found no usable record for Suunto, for the Garmin Index Sleep Monitor, for the Withings mat, or for RingConn and Ultrahuman as brands. We are not going to guess. If those go on sale, they will appear in the live section above with a source.
Buy now or wait for November, by product class
- Chest strap (Polar H10, H9, Garmin HRM 200). Buy now, or buy in November — the discount is reliable but the product is cheap, and a strap bought in October gets used for a month longer. If you are already inside the Polar sale window, buy then.
- Previous-generation Garmin (fēnix 8, Forerunner 265, Forerunner 965). Wait for late November unless the live price above is already at or below the level the record shows. Two years of $250-off fēnix 8s is as close to a pattern as this category offers.
- Current-generation Garmin (Forerunner 970, 570, Instinct 3). Wait if you can; the record is a first $100-off in November, not a deep cut. If the live price above already shows a discount, the record says a steeper one on Black Friday is unlikely for a big-brand product that is already on sale.
- COROS (PACE 4, APEX 4). Buy when you are ready. No record of a November discount on current models; COROS reprices permanently instead.
- Oura Ring 4. Wait for late November. Discounted in 2025 after skipping 2024; now the older of two current rings.
- Apple Watch Ultra 3. Wait. Now the outgoing model, which is where the 2025 Apple discounts were deepest.
- WHOOP. Wait for the membership sale; it ran 20 November to 2 December in 2025.
- Anything announced since August. Do not wait for a discount that the record says is unlikely. Buy it if they want it, or buy the outgoing model.

Skip this if you lift heavily. A rigid ring on a loaded barbell is uncomfortable at best, and Oura's own guidance is to take it off — a tracker you remove for training is not tracking your training.

How to use the gift guides with this page
The gift guides pick the product; this page tells you when to buy it. Under $100 is straps, which are buy-any-time. Under $250 is mostly COROS and Garmin accessories, which the record splits between buy-now and wait. For runners and no-budget are where the previous-generation Garmins and the outgoing Ultra live, which are the November products. Sleep and recovery is the Oura and WHOOP, both of which have a November record.
What we will and will not post here
When deals go live we will list each one with the price a cited source recorded, the date, and a link through the same disclosed affiliate resolver used everywhere on this site. We will not list "expected" deals, we will not quote a discount we have not seen, and we will not move a product up the ranking because it is on sale. The rubric does not have a sale-price input, and that is deliberate.

Friday 27 November 2026, with Cyber Monday on 30 November. On the 2025 record, manufacturer sales in this category opened earlier: Polar's on 11 November, WHOOP's on 20 November, COROS's on 24 November.
Will the Garmin Forerunner 970 be cheaper on Black Friday?
We do not predict prices. The record: it received its first discount, $100 off, on Black Friday 2025, six months after launch. It is now over a year old. That is all the record says, and it is what we would plan around.
Does COROS do Black Friday deals?
In 2025, only on its heart-rate strap with a watch purchase. The PACE 3 and PACE Pro price cuts the same month were permanent repricing tied to the PACE 4 launch, not a sale, and the PACE 4 and APEX 4 were not discounted.
Is it better to buy the fēnix 8 or wait for a fēnix 9 deal?
The record has no fēnix 9 in it — it launched on 25 August 2026. The fēnix 8 has been $250 off in each of the last two Novembers and is now the previous generation. If the recipient does not need the newest model, the fēnix 8 is the one with a discount history.
